Abstract: The bottle washing machine is type of machine used in removing bottle contaminants. This report includes the technical description of the bottle washing machine. It discusses the basic principles and theory of operation of the bottle washing machine, detailed description for the equipment and equations governing the variables of bottle washing machine showing all the mechanical parts of the machine. The bottle washing machine is made up of the power transmission system, the bottle conveyor and the washing water supply system. A nozzle device mechanism was used to increase the velocity, momentum and acceleration of a flowing fluid. The reason for using a nozzle in the bottle washing machine is to increase the velocity with which the water enters the bottles. The dirt will be removed as the bottles are turned upside down. The nozzles direct the flow of the water to the bottles with the help of its circular and convergent nature. The bottle washing machine was designed and fabricated using locally available materials to see the possibility of producing this machine locally and comparing it against the imported ones. Bottle washing machine was successful designed and
fabricated. Test to determine the purity of washing was carried out. From the trial 75 litres required to wash 10 bottles each of size 35, 50,70 and 100 Cl in 27 minutes.
