The BellsTech Centre for Artificial Intelligence (BCA) is an interdisciplinary hub for cutting-edge AI research, innovation, and collaboration. Our mandate is to advance the frontiers of artificial intelligence by fostering research, innovation and collaboration among researchers, industry partners, and policy-makers to address real-world challenges across diverse sectors. At BCAI, we bring together expertise in machine and deep learning, expert systems, robotics, natural language processing, virtual, augmented and mixed realities, computer vision, data science, and ethical AI.

Our goal is to develop and deploy AI technologies that are scientifically sound, ethically grounded, and socially beneficial.
The centre will develop AI-based research ecosystem, foster innovation and collaborations, develop human capacity and expertise in AI in the institution and wider research communities, increase AI competence amongst students, members of staff, and society and to develop new AI knowledge that responds to challenges and needs of students, staff, institution as well as the society at large (industrial, private and public sectors inclusive) both locally and internationally.
Be an institutional centre with ambitious goals for learning, research, innovation and collaboration geared towards societal benefits. This means that the AI centre must have broad institutional and multidisciplinary collaborations with academically solid relevant actors. Develop new knowledge, technology and/or solutions that are continuously disseminated and used to create value for the institution and society. Build expertise that increases AI capacity in order to meet the need for qualified labour with AI skillset across private and public sectors.Increase the internationalisation of Bellstech AI research through collaboration and participation in strong networks nationally and internationally. Strengthen the institution’s ability to solve complex problems through interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration. Promote innovation in the areas of AI, data science, future computing, automation and control, predictive maintenance, digital security and product development.
